Greenfields Indonesia and Galdi: a successful long-distance relationship

Co-created solution for an automatic filling machine for ultra-pasteurized milk

Can two companies based 15,000 km apart share daily goals and innovate? The answer is yes, as our experience with Greenfields Indonesia demonstrates.


GABLE TOP CARTON FILLING MACHINE: FROM NECESSITIES TO CO-CREATED SOLUTIONS


The partnership between Galdi and Greenfields Indonesia was born out of a necessity. The Indonesian company was seeking a filling machine for 2-litre Gable Top cartons in view of partly replacing plastic bottles for its ultra-pasteurized milk.

Becoming a supplier of that first filling machine allowed Galdi to communicate its expertise in Gable Top to the client and led to the installation of two new models from our automatic filling machine RG270UCS range.

This resulted in new challenges and new goals for the Galdi-Greenfields team.


ENSURING A 40-DAY SHELF LIFE


Greenfields distribution extends well beyond the Indonesian market, hence requiring products with a longer shelf life.

To attain this goal, the company concentrated its efforts on constantly improving its production processes, which now ensure the highest hygiene standards.

The challenge addressed jointly by Galdi and Greenfields was to minimise the risks of contamination during the filling process. The result was the creation of a sterile air system inside the packaging handling tunnel, an innovative feature custom-built for Greenfields – now an upgrade available to all our clients sharing the same need.

In addition, for more effective cleaning, Galdi recommended the use of an external foaming unit.

Finally, our fillers helped us to fulfil another necessity. Indeed, our quick rinse system allows for a speedy cleaning of the doser, which minimises product waste at every change of format.


MONITORING PERFORMANCE AND BRIDGING THE DISTANCE


Ensuring the highest hygiene standards is as important as maintaining constant production levels, either by anticipating or quickly solving any problem.

Our reliable, easy-to-service filling machines offer an initial solution to it. But how could we guarantee rapid service times when the client is several thousand miles away?

Our answer is MaSH. Our remote monitoring system, constantly connected to Galdi headquarters, allows our clients to regularly track performances and prevent any anomalies.

This translates in reduced downtime and breakdowns and helps to constantly improve performance through daily and weekly reports.
