Through collaboration with Galdi, this idea has materialised into a new efficient, innovative and state-of-the-art filling line.
The perfect balance of tradition and innovation
Mila stands for excellence. Every drop of its milk encapsulates the history and passion of the cooperative's two thousand farmer members, custodians of a breeding method with roots in the alpine pastures of South Tyrol.
The company’s top product is Latte Fieno (Hay milk), a unique product appreciated for its genuine and natural taste.
To best preserve the organoleptic properties that nature offers, Mila relies on strict controls every day, and on research and innovation.
The new packaging plant, built with the cooperation of Galdi and Tetrapak for the processing part, stems from the desire to provide state-of-the-art efficiency and productivity while ensuring the utmost respect for the quality of the packaged product.

The new plant for Mila fresh milk with a Gable Top
The goal was clear: to guarantee maximum hygiene and total respect for the organoleptic qualities of milk.
Mila therefore chose two Gable Top RG280 packaging machines, top-of-the-range in the Galdi line in terms of hygienic performance and reliability.
In addition to the hygienic aspect, it was also essential for the system to be intuitive and versatile. The user interface of the machines (HMI) is one of the strengths of Galdi packaging machines, designed to provide a user-friendly experience, making operations easier for operators.

A further key factor was flexibility. With two RG280 filling machines, today Mila can package its products in various formats, from 200 ml to one litre, with or without a cap. This versatility means it can quickly adapt to market requirements while guaranteeing consistent performance with any type of packaging.
Support from Galdi
This new plant is the outcome of the work and cooperation of a close-knit team, where expertise and passion made the difference.Galdi technicians worked hand in hand with the Mila team, taking care of all aspects of the project with continuous coordination to ensure perfect harmony between all the teams involved.

Food safety and product quality were the focus of collaboration with the R&D department at Mila, where the process was finely tuned to ensure the utmost respect for the organoleptic qualities of the milk.
At the same time, the production layout was optimised to guarantee a more efficient workflow. The installation of packaging machines on the second floor of the plant in Bolzano required extremely precise aerial handling, and was carried out in total safety.
Lastly, integration between the two installed machines and the data management system (MES) was developed to ensure an efficient, connected and secure system with a focus on cyber security.
